Fijnwyn Regional Focus - Historical Coastal

We will enjoy a true Fijnwyn with the focus on wines from the Historical Coastal Region, the wine-producing area in the Western Cape that forms the heart of the South African wine industry. Stretching from Darling in the north to Cape Point and Constantia in the south, and to Stellenbosch and Paarl in the east, it accounts for nearly half of all the area under vine in South Africa.

The Coastal Region offers many different wines and grapes. Here you will find white, red and rosé wines, where Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah are the most common red grapes, while Chenin Blanc, Colombard and Sauvignon Blanc are the white grapes that are in focus.

We are super excited to host our first Fijnwyn for 2022. We are celebrating with “Bubbles” but that just means that each farm will have at least one “Bubbles” at their table. The rest of the wines will be the complete range of white, rose and red wines.

We are excited to host a Fijnwyn event. With the current restrictions it will be different as we are only allowed 250 people for an outdoor event. We had no choice but to split the day into 2 sessions with 250 people each. We have reduced the ticket prices slightly due to the hours being less but there will still be 25 wine farms to taste from, live music and food stalls.
The experience for the 250 people will be much better as there will be the same amount of seating etc so less q's and more space. Tickets are limited and once the limit has been reached we cannot release any extra tickets so go to www.itickets.co.za now to make sure you get a spot

For Bubbles we will welcome MCC, Prosecco, Sparkling wine and some more Bubble surprises from estates like Anthonij Rupert, Weltevrede & Villiera. There will also be white wines & rose to enjoy.
 
Shokran is a unique events venue situated in a tranquil farm setting amid pecan nut and almond plantations only 12km from Woodlands Boulevard in Pta East. 
It is the ideal setting for families to enjoy a day where they will feast their senses on wine, food and music. You are welcome to bring your own gazebos and chairs for our chill zone and listen to amazing live music from some of the amazing upcoming South African talent.

There is a Kids Zone at an additional charge, operated by The Clamber Cub where your kids can play whilst you enjoy the festival.

We are excited to announce that the 15th Fijnwyn Food and Wine Festival will take place at Shokran Events Venue in Pretoria East on 16 & 17 June 2018 and this time we are celebrating Reds. With more than 35 wine estates including Beyerskloof, Louis 57, Boplaas, De Krans and boutique farms like Wijnskool from the Overberg, you will be sure to taste some of the best red and port like wines South Africa has to offer. Come and embrace winter,  There will even be some real port from Portugal available. Each estate will have one “cheat” with a white and rose on their table for the white wine lovers..

This year we celebrate Youth Day on the Saturday and Father’s Day on the Sunday and Fijnwyn is the perfect place to celebrate. On Sunday the first 300 dads will receive a small gift from us.

The idea of Fijnwyn was to bring a wine festival with a relaxed atmosphere to Pretoria where family and friends can enjoy some of the best wines in a unique setting and it has grown to Pretoria’s favourite wine festival where family and friends meet in a secure setting feasting their senses with great wines, delicious food and live music by some of South Africa’s best kept secrets when it comes to talent. The 10th Fijnwyn Food & Wine Festival will be held on 27th & 29th of April 2017. 

We will create an ideal setting for families to enjoy a day where they can feast their senses on wine, food, music and the beautiful setting of Shokran.

Check out the “Fijnwyn in Styl” tickets in an exclusive area our Fijnwyn tent with reserved tables for 12 people. This includes entrance, tasting glasses, picnic boxes, table wine and a waiter

Limited picnic baskets will be available to pre-book and various other food stalls available on the day. There will also be some live music as well as entertainment for the kids.

Live music will be by Rembrandt v Rijn, Roan v As and TUIN.

This is an event not to be missed so get your tickets online at www.itickets.co.za. 

Because of the enormous interest we have decided to only put out a certain amount of tickets and once this is sold out there will be no tickets available at the gates, so please book your tickets well in advance to avoid disappointment.

Gates open at 10h00 and close at 18h00 and wine tasting can be done between 10h00 and 17h00.
